VACUUM SEALING CHEESE

Once you have opened your cheese after the long wait, it’s best to store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator. A vacuum sealer is handy to store portions of hard cheeses (and other types of food) without needing numerous containers. You can also add dried herbs, fruits and spices into the vacuum sealer bag to infuse the cheese during storage, or cold smoke the cheese before vacuum sealing. Simply cut the cheese into portions, insert each portion into a vacuum sealer bag, vacuum and seal, label and refrigerate. Shop around to see which vacuum sealer suits your needs or consider sharing/borrowing one from a friend.
