COMMUNITY COURSES
A demonstration-based, educational and informative cooking course suitable for people (18 years and older), of all skill levels who are interested in learning more about food preservation, expanding jam-making skills (and learning other preserving methods) and exploring unique flavour combinations. To keep our costing low (and education high) you will learn interactively by watching us demonstrate the course recipes step-by-step (hands-on participation if the venue is suited to do so, pending group size, is always encouraged). You'll be provided with in-depth course notes to go home with, so you can practice the skills demonstrated and discussed at the community course. Learn more about the background of each dish, pick up tips and tricks, ask questions to gather confidence and knowledge to master home food preservation. Receive follow-up advice via our Facebook private support groups if you have further questions when making the course recipes at home (for those without Facebook access, email and phone contacts are provided).  Bookings are essential, through the venue or organiser and part proceeds from each ticket also go to the venue (a local NFP).  For more information on a particular course, please see our course schedule. Each term we offer various community courses, and many are only taught once a year due to seasonal availability (or weather permitting) and we always aim to keep costs low for attendees, so they are generally large groups (i.e. 20 attendees or more). If you miss a community course, we recommend booking private tuition or purchasing our course guides.
WHEN: Usually Saturday or Sunday, 3-4 hours, during the school term.
PRICE PER PERSON: from $39 (RRP $65pp)

COMMUNITY CLASSES/WORKSHOPS
Hands-on educational and informative cooking classes/workshops suitable for people (18 years and older), of all skill levels who are interested in learning more about food preservation, expanding jam-making skills (and learning other preserving methods) and exploring unique flavour combinations. Costings is higher than the community courses (talks) to cover ingredients and equipment required. Some items might also required to be brought to the workshop by attendees, depending on the topic taught and the workshop fee.  Learn hands-on with us, individually or in small groups i.e. pairs (depending on numbers and venue size), as we prepare course recipes step-by-step and then take home what you create - if not eaten at the workshop! You'll also be provided with in-depth course notes to go home with, so you can practice the skills and recipes used at the community workshop - learn much more about the background of each dish, pick up tips and tricks, ask questions to gather confidence and knowledge to master home food preservation, and also receive follow-up advice via our Facebook private support groups if you have further questions when making the course recipes at home (for those without Facebook access, email and phone contacts are provided).  Bookings are essential, through the venue or organiser and part proceeds from each ticket also go to the venue (a local NFP).  For more information on a particular workshop, please see our workshop schedule. Each term we offer various community workshops, and many are only taught once a year due to seasonal availability (or weather permitting) and we always aim to keep costs reasonably priced for attendees, since these are generally smaller groups (8-12 attendees) and might also include equipment for example in the workshop fee. If you miss a community workshop, we recommend booking private tuition or purchasing our course guides.
WHEN: Usually Saturday or Sunday, 4-5 hours.
PRICE PER PERSON: from $99 to $149 (RRP $297pp)
